Key largo tour

A toddler in tow who loves milk and needs it at unexpected places and time, we decided to do a big family trip to the keys. I was not hoping completely for the trip to go without any errors, with a toddler. But then we were 4 adults and a toddler and two were very experienced adults being my mom n dad. So with that thought we decided to do this 8 days trip. What better time to go for trip in summer, in june, sweltering weather but my brother was very determined to mk the best of all the time we had. He was looking for some new work n had time off. I took time off from work n my parents n toddler were pretty much on their own schedule. My husband with his new job had neither the time nor ptos to come with us.
So we decided to conquer the keys starting with key largo, then going to farthest point key west n then back to Miami.

We got down at the Miami airport n headed straight to rentals, with toddler who wanted to climb down the shoulder n walk all ver the place. Us carrying his heavy 360 degree 7 seat arrangements car seat throught two trains and half a dozen walk ways. At that time it was like carrying two toddlers instead of one. We took turns carrying this toddler who was heavier than my actual one. all the time wondering if we really needed to bring that gigantic seat. It took us about nealy 2 hours to get to avis n get the car n get out of airport. Noone k knew how to put the car seat in new car, as the installtion sytem was very different. Some people there did not speak english, so at last after a few customers left the only helping attendent, she helped us fix the car seat in place. All that time my toddler munching on gorgin on all food supplies we had. On he was comfortbale in car seat, and he felt at home we heaved a sign of replief with his sweet grin. Then started our 2 hours journey to key largo.

My very experienced n smart younger brother booked us a resort in key largo called 'Playa Largo Resport and Spa'. I had never stayed at a resort but he got a wonderful deal on it on expedia and there we were. Half knowing that this was gonna be the best stay of the whole trip. We were greeted by some awesome help with parking, moving luggage from car to our bungalow and some refreshing mojitos and nice lemon water for the 15 month old.  In that mojito moment we all discovered that our journey for the day had ended n it was time to relax. Taking 4 more mojito free refills we decided to head to room forgetting all about sunset n beaches. We came to the bungalow which did not hv an ocean view but we could hear the sound. And loved it cute quaint feel. My toddler was over the moon with the discovery of stairs n the two floor structure of bungalow, so he cool climb crawl the stairs all day and night. He quickly learnt about the absense of baby gates and had a party discovering and banging all kitchen utensils to create some head banging music.

We unloaded our stuff happy to have a full blown kitchen to us n made some tea to have with cookies. Through the trip I realized how important it is to have a full kitchen or so I thought. The bungalow offered a nice outdoor patio and plenty of chameleons and other tropical insects to keep my toodler happy. As we sipped tea and enjoyed those leisure family moments, came time to think about little hungry hippo aka toddler boy baby. Eating constantly every 2 hours, I always make sure he has something to eat from home or kitchen. I opened our biggest bag on the trip 'the toddler food bag' and made some quick rice n curry. After a hearty meal, and a much more quite baby we were ready to explore the beautiful resort.

But since I was not carrying my dslr, because that sounded like another baby to keep a watch on, i had to take pics with my trusted cell camera. The pictures here dont do any justice to the resort.

It is located right off a gulf with no crashing waves. It has a huge pool which has a lot of floating mats to relax on. Big cabanas you could book. Music and tiki bar and drinks. The pool extended till a sand beach to play on, which had fire pits and chairs around. Cozy and fun hammocks to either bask in sun or the evening breeze you name it. Which then extended to a quite pier and quite beach lagoon with such warm water you did never want to come out of it. You could carry floating mats to the lagoons or simply kayak. Paddle board on the beautiful transperant turqoise waters serenly. You could also just snorkel in those quite water looking at fish below and enjoying all that solitude.

This entire resort was some place you can wish and relax to your hearts content. Many people there had come for a nice long week holiday. Esp if you have kids this is a really good place to be away from hustle bustle of Miami and still very much near to it if you crave to do something more fun, which i doubt.
